MUSIC - Reunion of the Bob Pearce Blues Band - April 2019 The Platform Tavern

Funky shots of the funky blues of The Bob Pearce Band reunion

Back together after 27 years, unfortunately we never saw them in the day; wishing we had; you could see the joy on the guys faces at singing their old blues numbers together. What I liked was the funky blues sound with a strong rhythm section made up of Brian Wright drummer and Steve on the bass guitar . Pete gave his usual smooth guitar rendition (Pete Harris Blues Band) with added vocals. And of course Bob Pearce with his amazing voice so suited to the blues, and his great guitar input. We have seen the old photographs, they looked somewhat slimmer then, but I can imagine the sound down at the Onslow that was the blues pub in Southampton, subsequently Lennons and now....! They were recorded by the great producer Mike Vernon (David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Keith Richards), on the Blue Horizon label with "The Blues is Alright". Perhaps we could get Mike back for the October gig!
